Quite funny that I’m writing this while waiting on a video render of Final Cut Pro at the moment; Final Cut Pro X Is showed at the Final Cut Supermeet during NAB just a couple of hours ago. So No Final Cut Pro 8 or 9, but Apple’s Magic number 10.
Some quick takes I found on the blogosphere/twitter:
- Background rendering; Because working in the 64 bit architecture this is finally posible.
- Native AVC and H.264 editing; Good news for the HDSLR users and the Sony-FS100 and Panasonic AG/AF-100 users.
- build new from the ground up; which means, beside the 64 bit story a new interface, some found it similar to iMovie.
- Smart auto corrections: rolling shutter, audio syncing etc, all during ingesting.
- Price $299.00 via the App Store in June
My quick take: Of course I have to touch it but the specs are quite promising. My core business is doing TV shows and we have a quick turnaround. So Background rendering, native AVC/H264 editing and the auto corrections sounds very handy to me when you have to output 2/3 TV shows a week.

What are you’re personal thoughts about FCP X?
Hi Rinze, see my last paragraph in the post.
”So Background editing, native AVC/H264 editing and the auto corrections sounds very handy to me when you have to output 2/3 TV shows a week.”
Background editing? That would be a nice feature indeed.
Just wait and it will edit the show for ya
I’m sure you meant Rendering;)
